CROM stands for Children’s Rights Observatory Malta. The need for this observatory emerged from the needs identified through various processes with children. The CPAT (Child Participation Assessment Tool) and DG Just processes highlighted gaps faced by children and professionals working with and for children. Even though Malta signed the UNCRC over 30 years ago, this was never transposed into Maltese national legislation.
CROM is a joint initiative between the Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society and the University of Malta. It was launched in June 2021.
